Sri Mangalambika Vilas Coffee Hotel was started back in 1914 by Thaiyu patti and VG Harihara Iyer, who was working with her. Later he bought the hotel from her and continued to run with traditional south Indian items being served.
They are one the leading Brahmin hotels in Kumbakonam. After Harihara Iyer, his son is continuing to run the place and they recently marked 100 years of their hotel.
They initially served only south Indian tiffin items and later as time passed they started serving lunch as well.
They are a small family owned restaurant in the renowned temple town of Kumbakonam in Tamilnadu. They serve traditional South Indian Vegetarian tiffin items and lunch meals in a humble setting.
Their food is homestyle, of high quality, made fresh everyday, served at a very affordable price. Most of their customers are local working people who appreciate the quality, and the tourists and pilgrims visiting Kumbakonam and the nearby temples.
With Goddess Mangalambika’s blessings, they have delighted customers for over 100 years now !!

They are located in the Kumbeswarar ( Hindu God Shiva ) temple Sannadhi (indoor walkway to the temple main entrance). Parking is available outside the Sannadhi on Kumbeswarar N Street.
