Introduction to Siddhivinayak Temple, Siddhatek – A Sacred Ashtavinayak Shrine
Located on the serene banks of the Bhima River in Siddhatek, in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, the Siddhivinayak Temple is one of the eight revered Ashtavinayak temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is believed to be the only Ashtavinayak shrine where Lord Ganesha is depicted with his trunk turned to the right, a rare and powerful form known as Siddhivinayak, which signifies supreme spiritual energy and fulfillment of desires.
The temple is deeply connected to mythology and is said to be the site where Lord Vishnu obtained divine blessings from Lord Ganesha before setting out to defeat the demon Madhu-Kaitabh. It is also believed that Sage Vishwamitra performed intense penance here.
