Harivihar has just five double (twin beds) and two single rooms, thereby ensuring the guests a very exclusive and private ambience. The host couple, Dr Srikumar and Dr Neetha Srikumar, who stay in another house in the same compound, make certain that the guests have an enjoyable and peaceful stay while at Harivihar.
Harivihar – Fact File
Harivihar is located in Calicut (Kozhikode), which is well connected by road, rail and air. There are daily international flights landing at Karipur airport from Dubai(Emirates), Doha(Qatar) and Abu Dhabi (Etihad) in addition to several Air India flights.
The airport is just thirty kilometers away from Harivihar ayurveda resort in Kerala. There are also domestic flights from Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi to Karipur airport. Calicut is five hours away by surface from Kochi.
Accomodation
Number of rooms: Five double rooms with twin beds and two single rooms. All rooms have hot and cold showers with western toilets and wash basins. Harivihar offers free Wi-Fi access to our guests.
Cuisine
Pure vegetarian, wholesome food and prepared in tune with Ayurveda philosophy. The food is mildly spiced with less oil and is served fresh for each meal. Meat, fish, eggs, alcohol etc are not served. Ayurveda guests may have certain food restrictions as decided by the Ayurveda doctor.
Ayurveda
Harivihar is a Green Leaf accredited Ayurveda treatment centre. There are two treatment rooms and two persons can undergo treatment at the same time. At least two masseurs would be present for each treatment schedule which can last from 20 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on type of therapy.
Ayurveda treatment at Harivihar are done under the aegis of Sakalya Ayurveda Center, a reputed Ayurveda group in Kerala. Ayurveda treatments would require use of internal medicine, which are sometimes pungent to taste, but the use of which shall definitely give good results.
Yoga
Yoga is offered by the Yoga teacher Mr. Gopalji from Sivananada Yoga School, in a large octagonal room on the first floor meant for that specific purpose. The usual Yoga timing is 7 am till 8.30 am.
Climate
Calicut has a tropical climate, with November to March relatively cooler and March to May getting warmer. June to August are the monsoon months, considered to be a good period for Ayurveda treatment. Light cotton and linen clothing is ideal throughout the year.
